Resilience

Resiience is a key factor in developing confidence and maintaining well-being.  This section explores the roots of resilience and how it can be developed.

The Centre's contact with schools has brought into sharp focus the fact that parents' desire to protect their young people from bad feelings is eroding their resilience.

In this section you can explore the Bounce Back resiliency programme which originated in Australia and has been introduced to schools in Scotland.

Further information on the Centre’s views on resilience can be found in its publication Creating Confidence: A handbook for professionals working with young people
